Really interesting pre-release book that Mom sent — it’s about the history of electricity, from John Thomson inventing the telegraph (it wasn’t Samuel Morse) to Alexander Graham Bell, then the history of wireless from Hertz to radar (in the 40s). A short chapter about Turing & Shockley & how the computer came to be, then, surprisingly, a section about how electricity makes the whole human body work. I found the beginning history interesting & fun to read, and the stuff about the human body fascinating (since I don’t know much about it). He makes the very interesting point that the idea that electricity is what runs the human body is so surprising that it took us until very recent times just to figure it out. Comes out in the next quarter or so — fun book to read.
