Built to Win, by John Schuerholz

This is not a book for everyone, but I liked it. It’s a pretty run-of-the-mill book by a sports executive — but in this case, it’s by John Schuerholz, the GM of the Atlanta Braves, and before that the Kansas City Royals, my two favorite professional baseball teams.

  1. John Schuerholz, or anyone who can communicate with him, please tell him about this and consider the idea.

I am a die hard braves fan, and my dream is to be the braves general manager someday. I am a big fan of Schuerholz, and admire his work.

The idea I want him to consider is a trade with the baltimore orioles.

here is how I beleive the deal would go down.

    Braves get

    Corey patterson
    Brian roberts

    Orioles get

    Matt Diaz
    Adam LaRoche
    Lance Cormier
and Cash Considerations Pick up LaRoche’s contract for the Orioles for the 07 season

I have thought about this and though it leaves a void at first base, it solves three other voids, left feild, leadoff hitter, and second.

you can always move chipper to first, it would prolong his professional career and it may solve his injury problems. Then you can develop Aybar (great deal, Betemit will be a star in the bigs but Aybar has just as much potential, and he is younger. geting baez and aybar out of betemit, was a stroke of genius.

whatever you do dont get more than melky cabrera out of Laroche, cabrera is not an adequate player to get in turn of laroche.
