oh, and if you’re using Firefox 3 builds…

…to look at this blog, apologies. something weird going on with something in my wordpress css and how firefox 3 wants to display fonts. as a result, my fonts here for firefox 3 users have been, um… suckified. working on addressing, but maybe not until next week. fwiw, checking out this blog on an iphone now looks decidedly better. 🙂

[anyone know what’s going on?]

  1. Looks good to me on today’s trunk win32 nightly — that is, it looks pretty much the same as it does on IE7. Perhaps it’s a Mac issue?

  2. Hm. For some reason it seems to look OK on Firefox 3 w/OSX Tiger but not on Firefox 3 w/OSX Leopard (I just did a side by side comparison with the same build).

  3. Further testing and talk with Stuart revealed: Firefox 3 does kerning, Safari doesn’t, so it will always look a little different. However, Safari shows it the same way across Tiger and Leopard, and on Leopard Firefox 3 shows the fonts as squooshed.

    Filed bug 400717.

  7. Haven’t tracked this down yet, but for some reason FF3 is picking up “Futura Condensed Medium” instead of “Futura Medium”, which is what it probably should be picking up. As a temporary workaround, you can explicitly specify “Futura Medium”. Sorry for the bother…
