I can't even imagine what Madrid's Barajas airport is like if you are calling it a nightmare. All I know is thank goodness there are even more airline options when traveling overseas, including Singapore Airlines. Because after being stuck in a nightmare airport, the last thing I want to do is be stuck on a nightmare flight.

Hrm, my experience at CPH was pretty bad. I spent over an hour in the checkin line for a KLM flight to AMS (the first flight of the day; I arrived just before 5am for a 6-something departure), and they had to hold the plane for the checkin line to clear. Then again, that was probably mostly the fault of the KLM staff. In fact, it might have even been where you took the picture, except the room was completely full, with lines running the entire width of your picture to large numbers of the checkin desks.

Yeah, I can't stand Heathrow either. The lines - sorry - queues eat away at my soul. You also forgot to mention the crazy inter-terminal busses that drive on the wrong side of the road.
