The Raw Shark Texts, by Steven Hall

I picked this book up on a lark — was recommended to me on Amazon, and looked good, so I got it. I’m really happy I did — was a fun, smart, fast-paced book that broke me out of a slow-reading slump. Sort of Jaws meets The Matrix meets Murakami. Hard to describe beyond that — sort of techothriller/mental games with sharks. Well, not sharks, exactly, but sorta.

Anyway, loved it.

[ps — I’ve got about a dozen books I’ve finished over the past few months but haven’t blogged, so will be putting up quite a few of these hopefully this week. A few of the books have already proven really influential in my thinking…]

  1. I loved the Raw Shark Texts. It was recommended to me at random by a very enthusiastic bookshop employee. It was on the sale shelf at the time so I figured “what the hell?” and picked it up. Blew through it in two or three nights. Fun, interesting, and compelling.

  3. I've also read the raw shark texts and i have to agree that the book was fast paced and fun. The book also really did open up my mind as well, personally for myself it was a tough reading but in the end i really enjoyed it and was glad to have gone through the whole thing
