Jennifer Government, by Max Barry

A fun, quick read — sort of science fiction but could be present day — an alternate reality where we’re all super-associated with where we work (taking as last names the name of the company), everything is super-privatized and corporate.

  1. I tried reading this a few years ago and just couldn’t finish it.

  2. See also his third novel: Company, which I think is a better read all told. It’s been a little while, but I remember it as somewhat jPod-esque, without the “seesh Doug Coupland is obnoxious” vibe running through it.
